                                                               Vikram Mohan

 

 

                                                                                                         

                     Vikram Mohan was born in New Delhi, India. He started his                      Western Classical Ballet, Jazz, Modern, Salsa, Tango,                          Contemporary Dance education under the direction of Master                      Fernando Aguilera in “National Ballet Academy trust of India”. He has also done One year of Aerial dance training from Anandam dance theatre under the direction of Brand  Leary  and Catherine Daniel from Vertical Circus. Worked with Lucia Marthas as Choreography and dance classes observer  in  Lucia Marthas Institute for performing art in Amsterdam (Museum plan studio,  Rustenburg Studio,) and North Holland Studio for three weeks. Attending many intensive dance workshops with international and Indian teachers in Classical Indian, Contemporary and Ballet Technique.

 

In 2005, Mr. Vikram Mohan created his dance company titled, Voxpop Dancers India and in 2012 he founded India International Aerial Club,  both company’s based in New Delhi, India. He has also worked as freelance choreographer in theatres.  He has worked with National School of Drama New Delhi, National School Of Drama Gangtok Sikkim, Film Television Institute Pune, MP School of Drama Bhopal,  IP University and many theatre groups, Collages and Schools as choreographer and visiting faculty.  He was nominated for Best Choreographer in Mahindra and Mahindra Excellence Theatre Awards 2007.  Some of his Choreography projects in Theatre like-: “Pair Giant” Directed Mr V.k Sharma in 2006 including an acting role, Sanskrit Play “Madhyam voyage” in an actor’s role, directed by Mr Robin Das in 2006, “Gipsy Jatak” directed by Mr K.K Rajan In 2007, “Apna Apna Bhagya” directed by Mr V.k Sharma in 2008, “Sab Thaat Pada Rahai Jaiga” directed by Mr Ranjeet Kapoor for National School of Drama New Delhi India in 2011, “A Midsummer Night’s Dream” directed by Mr Anoop Trivadi in 2013 and 2015 for IP University etc. Extensive experience with theatre groups such as Khilona Theatre group, Dramatech, MGR entertainment and Dramabaaz group.

 

He works as Choreographer at the Kalakar Trust to training young dancers, extended their imagination and performance skills, working on new ideas with Indian folk artists. He has worked as choreographer in “Harvest Time” Velno festival produced by Mundial Productions, Holland under the direction of Jacques Van Meel. Bringing together artists from Kenya, Ghana,  Brazil and India in 2012. He Choreographed in Non - Western Duet “Rise, why not us?” produced by Mundial Productions under the direction of Jacques Van Meel in Tilburg Netherlands May-June 2013. He worked as Choreographer in project "Aakashan" In New Delhi Directed by Catherine Daniel In collaboration with Kalakar Trust , Vertical Circus, Australian government and ICCR in 2014. He attended International Choreographer week Tilburg Netherlands-2014 as International Choreographer from India in Tilburg Netherlands supported by Kalakar Trust And he presented contemporary dance project “Life in Darkness”.
